About Your Account
What does it mean that NCA acquired my account?
When NCA acquires an account, we become the owner of that account. This allows us to provide account information, answer questions, and work with consumers to resolve the balance if applicable.
What should I do if I don't recognize the account?
Start by reviewing any communication we sent. If you need more details, you can request additional information to help you understand the origin of the account. You can also contact our support team to discuss your specific account in more detail.
How can I request more information about an account?
You can contact our support team to request clarification or additional documentation. Requesting information is an informational process and does not change the status of the account.
Payments
How can I make a payment?
You can make a secure payment any time using our online portal or learn more about payment options on our Make a Payment page.
Can National Credit Adjusters remove information from my credit report?
National Credit Adjusters (NCA) cannot change or delete information reported by the originating creditor. For accounts that NCA reports directly, our policy is to request deletion of our tradeline 60–90 days after the account is satisfied. Before deletion occurs, you may see a paid-in-full status within approximately 30–45 days following payment.
Will paying the account improve my credit score?
NCA does not determine credit scores and cannot predict how a score may change. We can only furnish accurate account information to the credit bureaus.
Disputes and Complaints
How do I dispute an account with National Credit Adjusters?
If you disagree with a specific material fact about an account, such as the balance, ownership, or other account details, you can use our online dispute form to submit a dispute. Learn more about how to dispute an account here.
Does filing a dispute stop credit reporting?
Not necessarily. Credit reporting generally continues according to federal guidelines and bureau timelines while a dispute is being investigated. However, reporting activity may be affected depending on the nature and outcome of the investigation.
What happens when I file a dispute?
NCA will investigate the dispute and respond accordingly.
Should I file a complaint with an outside agency?
You may choose to do so, but contacting NCA directly is often the fastest way to receive clarification.
